How to Make Instant Oatmeal Packets
Stovetop:
Bring ⅔ cup water to a boil. Add oats, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand for 2–3 minutes.
Boiling Water:
Place oats in a heatproof bowl and add ½ cup boiling water. Stir, cover and let stand for 3–5 minutes.
Microwave:
Place oats in a microwave-safe bowl and add ½ cup water. Stir, cover and microwave on high for 1–1:30 minutes. Let stand for 30–60 seconds. Stir well before eating.
Eating raw oats is generally safe but may cause digestive issues or increase the risk of foodborne illness.
